Summary

You can set labor on a recipe card as a percentage of the retail value instead of entering time. This helps allocate labor costs more flexibly and consistently. FlowerBuddy also calculates an estimated build time using your hourly rate settings, keeping your labor values accurate across both methods.

Instructions

  • Open any recipe card and expand the Labor section.

  • On the left-hand side, toggle between time-based labor and percentage-based labor.

  • When using percentage-based labor, enter the percentage of the retail value you want to allocate to labor.

  • The system will keep retail labor values consistent when switching between methods, using your hourly rate for calculations.

  • Percentage-based labor also provides a time estimate for how long the recipe should take, based on your hourly rate.

  • To adjust settings, go to the Details tab of the recipe card.

  • Scroll down to the Markup section and click Edit Settings.

  • In the Labor section, you can:

    • Set the hourly labor rate.

    • Choose a default labor percentage for new recipe cards.

    • Set the percent labor multiplier used to calculate retail labor value when using percentages.
