# Manage workspace member access

The role controls in **Members** help you match a person's access to their current work. They also distinguish an invitation that has not been accepted from an active member who already has access to the workspace.

The member and pending-invite lists show role and access actions in their own rows.

## Change a role

Choose a custom role from the **Role** menu beside an eligible member or pending invitation. Select **Full-Access** to remove a custom role. FlowerBuddy asks you to confirm a role assignment for an accepted member.

Changing a pending invitation updates the role that will apply when the person accepts. Changing an accepted member's role changes the workspace access associated with that member.

Create or edit the available custom roles in [Workspace roles](/reference/workspace-settings/roles/workspace-roles.md).

## Manage pending invitations

A pending invitation has actions to resend the invitation or revoke it. Resending sends another invitation to that address. Revoking removes the pending invitation before the person accepts it.

Use the pending-invitation actions when the address was entered incorrectly, the invitation is no longer needed, or the recipient needs another copy.

## Remove a member

Select the trash icon with the **Remove from workspace** label beside an accepted member, then confirm the removal. Removing a member immediately removes that person's access to all workspace data. It does not delete the workspace's events, clients, or other shared records.

Review the confirmation carefully before removing access. If the person only needs different access, changing their role is usually the narrower change.
