# Resolve a Stripe connection problem

If Stripe is connected but clients cannot pay, start with the Stripe status on **Workspace Settings > Integrations > Payments**. A connection, permission to accept payments, and an event's web-payment setting are separate checks.

## Check the connection and capabilities

In the Stripe area, review **Stripe Account ID**, **Payments**, and **Payouts**.

* **Connect Stripe Account** means no Stripe account is connected to this workspace. Follow [Connect Stripe](/reference/workspace-settings/integrations/payments/connect-stripe.md).
* **Payments: Not enabled** means the account is not ready to accept client payments through Stripe.
* **Payouts: Not enabled** means payouts are not enabled for the account. Check Stripe's requirements even if **Payments** is enabled.

If FlowerBuddy shows a warning about pending Stripe items, select **Manage Account** in the Stripe area. This opens the [Stripe Dashboard](https://dashboard.stripe.com/), where you can review and complete Stripe's requests for your business.

After addressing those requests, return to FlowerBuddy and select **Refresh Details** in the Stripe area. Review the updated statuses. Refreshing checks the connection; it does not complete Stripe's requirements or guarantee immediate approval.

## Check which Stripe account you are viewing

A single Stripe login can have access to multiple accounts. In the Stripe Dashboard, select the account name in the upper-left corner to switch accounts. Check that you are reviewing the account connected to FlowerBuddy, using the **Stripe Account ID** shown in FlowerBuddy as your reference. Stripe explains account switching in [Manage multiple Stripe accounts](https://support.stripe.com/questions/create-and-manage-multiple-stripe-accounts).

Finding a different Stripe business under the same login does not mean it is the one connected to this workspace. Do not create another account or remove the connection before checking this distinction.

## Check the event's payment settings

When **Payments** is enabled but an event still does not offer the expected payment method:

1. Review [Choose payment processors](/reference/workspace-settings/integrations/payments/choose-payment-processors.md) to confirm which processor handles card or ACH payments.
2. Open the event's **Details** tab and [check its web-payment and accepted-method settings](/reference/event-page/details/configure-payment-options.md). Connecting Stripe alone does not enable web payments on every event.
3. For ACH, confirm that the workspace uses USD and that Stripe's ACH capability is active. Card-payment availability does not establish ACH availability.

Use [Enable web payments on all events](/reference/workspace-settings/integrations/payments/enable-web-payments-on-all-events.md) only when you intend to apply that change across the workspace.

## Check a checkout that opens without payment fields

When the client can open checkout but its card or bank fields never finish loading, first try the [browser and network checks](/reference/event-page/details/help-a-client-make-an-online-payment.md#payment-fields-that-do-not-load). A provider-field loading problem can occur while Stripe is correctly connected and enabled. Check the processor used for that payment method too; the checkout might use Xplor Pay even when Stripe is also connected.

If the payment is recorded but the bank deposit is missing, use [check client payments and bank payouts](/reference/workspace-settings/integrations/payments/check-client-payments-and-payouts.md) to investigate the provider's funding record.

## Get help before disconnecting

If Stripe still requests information or keeps a capability disabled, use [Stripe Support](https://support.stripe.com/) for the account requirement. If Stripe and FlowerBuddy show conflicting connection information after refreshing, contact FlowerBuddy support with the status and error message you see. Never send a password, secret key, or client's card details.

**Remove Account** disconnects Stripe from the workspace. It is not a refresh action. Review the effect on client payments with support before disconnecting and reconnecting an account.
