# Turn task notifications on or off

Enable task notifications when the workspace owner and people responsible for the task should receive a reminder when the task is due. The setting belongs to the task and is separate from the task's status, assignee, and Email template.

## Change the notification setting

On the task card or List row, select the notification icon. The icon and its label indicate whether notifications are enabled. Select it again to turn notifications off.

The circled bell on the task card is the notification control. Hover over it to check whether the next click will enable or disable notifications.

The setting does not complete the task or change its due date. It only allows FlowerBuddy's task reminder process to consider the task for a due reminder.

## Reminder recipients

Task reminders can go to the workspace owner and to people assigned to the task, either directly or through its Event role. A recipient receives the task details for the due work, including the event and task name.

## Reminder timing

FlowerBuddy considers an enabled task that is not complete when its due date qualifies for a reminder and a reminder has not already been sent. It does not send reminders for tasks on event templates, deleted, archived, cancelled, or lost events, or tasks inside a completed group.

The notification setting does not send a message immediately when you select it. It permits the scheduled reminder process to send a due-task reminder when the task qualifies.
