# Tasks

The **Tasks** page brings together work for your active events so you can see what needs attention without opening each event separately. A task is one piece of work, such as confirming centerpiece quantities, checking a flower order, or arranging delivery. It can have an assignee, a due date, and a status.

Use this page to review work across events. When you want to concentrate on one event, use the **Tasks** tab on its [Event Page](/reference/event-page.md).

The board below shows wedding preparation in **To Do**, **In Progress**, and **Complete** columns. Event names on the cards help you see which event each task belongs to.

## Tasks across events

The filters above the board let you choose which work to review. **Event Status** focuses on tasks for Inquiry, Proposal, or Booked events. **Date Range** narrows the results by due date. Where available, **Assignee** helps you focus on one person's responsibilities, including your own.

For example, you could review tasks due next week for Booked events before deciding who will prepare each flower order. [Filter tasks on the Tasks page](/reference/tasks/find-tasks-that-need-attention.md) explains how to set and clear these filters.

## Board and List views

The **Board** view groups tasks into **To Do**, **In Progress**, and **Complete**, so you can see their progress. **List** presents the same work in rows. Use the view buttons above the results to switch between them; [Choose Board or List view](/reference/tasks/choose-board-or-list-view.md) shows their differences.

A task's status records progress on that piece of work. It is separate from the event status. Moving a flower-order task to **Complete**, for example, does not mean the whole event is completed. See [Change a task status](/reference/tasks/change-task-status.md).

## Task details and responsibility

Use a task for something your team needs to do, such as "Confirm centerpiece quantities." Give it a due date and an assignee so you can see when it needs attention and who is responsible. [Create a task](/reference/tasks/create-a-task.md) explains the available choices.

Related tasks can belong to a group. For example, "Design review" could bring together checking quantities, reviewing colors, and confirming rental details. Each task still has its own progress, while the group helps you review the work together. See [Create and manage task groups](/reference/tasks/create-and-manage-task-groups.md).

## Due dates and assignments

A due date can be a specific date or depend on an event milestone, such as the event date. It can also depend on completing another task or group. These choices let you plan work relative to the event instead of choosing every date separately. [Set a task due date and completion dependency](/reference/tasks/set-task-due-date.md) explains how those dates are calculated.

You can assign work directly to a workspace member or through an event role. For example, assigning a task to a design role lets the person assigned that role on the event receive the responsibility. See [Assign a task](/reference/tasks/assign-a-task.md) and [Manage task notifications](/reference/tasks/manage-task-notifications.md).
