# Add and organize products

On **Recipes**, select **Library** to add a saved recipe or select **Add Item** and choose **Recipe** to start a product directly. Name the product so the sales and production team can recognize it, then open it to add its quantity, ingredients, price, and details.

The **Add Templates** dialog lets you search the available recipes, use filters where they help narrow the list, select one or more recipes, and then choose **Add**.

The added product becomes part of this plan. Review its quantity, ingredients, labor, and selling price for the current period.

## Add a product directly

1. Open the plan's **Recipes** tab.
2. Select **Add Item** and choose **Recipe**.
3. Enter a recognizable product name.
4. Set the product quantity you plan to sell or make.
5. Expand the product to add ingredients, labor, selling price, and product details.

Use a direct product when the plan needs a one-time design or when a saved recipe would require more changes than it saves. For example, create a "Market bunch, September 23" product for a small daily quantity, then add its flower ingredients and price.

## Use groups carefully

Select **Add Item** > **Group** to organize related products. A group does not replace the products inside it. In the usual quantity mode, increasing the group quantity multiplies the component product quantities and their calculated totals. This is useful for a repeating set. When each component has an independent quantity, use **Decouple Group Quantity** and review the result before ordering.

The group price lock is also an exception. Leave it off when component changes should continue to update the group price. Turn it on only after deciding that the group price needs to stay manual.

## Maintain a product card

Use the controls at the bottom of an expanded product card to maintain that product. These actions require permission to edit the plan and an unlocked plan. A member who can view the plan but cannot edit it cannot use the product actions.

Select **Save as Template** to make a reusable saved copy of the product. Complete the template dialog to save it, then select it from **Library** when a later plan needs the same starting recipe. The saved template does not replace the product already in this plan, and later changes to either record do not update the other automatically.

Select **Duplicate Recipe** to make a separate copy in the current plan. Review the duplicate's name, quantity, ingredients, labor, and price before using it, because it is a new product rather than a linked version of the original.

Select **Apply Template** to update an existing product from one saved template. First choose the template, then select **Next**. FlowerBuddy applies the template's flowers, hard goods, labor, and sub-items. Choose the optional checkboxes only for details you intend to overwrite: **Pricing**, **Quantity**, **Sales Tax**, **Inspiration Photos**, **Proposal Notes**, and **Florist Notes**. Select **Apply** only after confirming those choices, since the selected details on the current product are replaced by the template values.

Drag the handle beside a product to move it into a different position on **Recipes**. Reordering changes the display order for the plan; it does not change the product's quantity, ingredients, or price.

Select **Delete Recipe**, then select **Delete** in the confirmation dialog, to permanently remove a product that the plan no longer needs. Deleting a group also removes its sub-items. Review the plan's product totals and ingredient needs after deleting a product or group.
