# Payments report

The **Payments** report has one row for each recorded payment and a row for a schedule's remaining balance. It is useful for reviewing what is due or what was recorded, but it does not take or refund a payment.

## Choose the rows

Use **Payment Date From** and **Payment Date To** for paid rows whose payment date is in the inclusive range. An unpaid schedule balance has no payment date, so it is excluded when either payment-date filter is used. **Event Status** limits the events considered. Select **Refresh** after changing the controls.

For example, leave payment dates blank to review both paid installments and scheduled balances for Booked events. Set May 1 through May 31 to review payments recorded in May, knowing unpaid balances are not in that date-filtered result.

## Read a payment row

**Payment Name** identifies the schedule item. **Payment Status** distinguishes a recorded payment from a remaining schedule balance. **Payment Due Date**, **Payment Date**, and **Payment Method** explain timing and method. **Payment Amount** is the row amount. **Payment Base Amount** is the amount applied to the event balance. **Event Total Before Application Fees** is the basis used for percentage payments and a final balance.

**Tip Amount**, **Tip Refunded**, **Amount Refunded**, **Date Refunded**, and **Refund Note** describe a refund when present. **Application Fee** appears only where the feature is available. Tax columns can appear when tax lines belong to the included event. Processor identifiers are references for matching records, not instructions to process a payment. Use [Work with report tables](/reference/reports/work-with-report-tables.md) to locate a client or export the loaded schedule rows.
