Edit vendor and location details

A vendor is the supplier's business; a location is the branch or online location you buy from. On Purchasing > Vendors, you can update vendor and location records created for your workspace. FlowerBuddy-maintained shared records remain protected.

Choose the vendor location

  1. Open Purchasing and select Vendors.

  2. Find the location under Default Wholesaler or My Other Wholesalers.

  3. Select its pencil control with the tooltip Edit Vendor.

If the supplier has several locations, choose the one whose details need updating. Use Manage favorite wholesalers to add a location to this list first.

The edit control appears when your workspace can edit the vendor, the location, or both. A shared vendor and shared location may have no edit control.

Edit the details you own

The Edit Vendor dialog separates the business's contact details from the selected location's details.

Edit Vendor dialog for Garden Supply Studio, with separate Vendor details and Location details, address and contact fields, and Save and Cancel buttons.
  • Vendor details contains the supplier's Name, Email, Phone, and URL.

  • Location details contains Location Type and that location's contact information. Brick & Mortar also shows its address fields. Online Only uses the location's email, phone, and website without a street address.

For example, correct a branch's pickup address under Location details. Change the supplier's business name under Vendor details only when the supplier itself needs renaming.

If FlowerBuddy maintains the shared vendor, the dialog explains that and disables its business fields. You can still edit your own location below when it belongs to your workspace. Contact FlowerBuddy support about a correction to a protected shared record.

Save and check the result

Select Save, then check the location in your Vendors list. Reopen Edit Vendor to confirm the saved contact or address details.

Save becomes available after you change an editable field. Enter a complete website URL, including https://, and correct any email or phone validation message before saving. If saving fails, the dialog stays open with an error so you can correct the details and try again.

Editing these details does not place a purchase order or choose a different default wholesaler. Those remain separate actions on Purchasing.
