# Remove events or delete purchase orders

Removing an event association, deleting an order item, and deleting an entire purchase order do different things. None of these actions cancels an order you have already placed with a wholesaler.

## Remove an event association

For an order associated with one event, open **Edit Order** and use the remove control on the event's chip. Read **Confirm Remove Event**, then confirm if this order should no longer be associated with that event. The event itself and its recipes remain. Chips on orders associated with multiple events are read-only.

If you remove the last associated event, the order remains available on the Purchasing page. Review the item quantities separately: removing an association is not a substitute for checking what you still need to buy.

The order editor keeps the associated event chips above the purchased items.

## Remove an item

Open the full item editor using [View & Manage Order](/reference/purchasing/orders/edit-order-details-and-items.md), click the trash icon beside the flower or hard good, and confirm **Remove Item**. For an order without an event, use the Orders-table pencil dialog instead. This removes the purchase-order line, not the corresponding input in an event recipe. The summary may then show a shortage because the recipes still require it.

## Delete the whole order

Open **Create & Manage Orders > Purchase Orders**, find the order, and open its three-dot menu. Choose **Delete**, check the confirmation, then click **Delete Order**.

This deletion menu is on orders displayed with retrieved event or plan data. It is not available in the Orders-table pencil dialog for a standalone order. If you intend to delete an event-associated order, do that before removing its last event association.

Refresh the planning summary afterward to see what remains to be ordered. If you already sent the order to a supplier, contact them separately about any cancellation or change.
