# Copy a purchase order

Copy a saved purchase order when you are ready to share its item quantities with your wholesaler. This copy uses the quantities on the order, not the recipe requirements shown in the planning summary.

## Copy the order

1. On **Purchasing > Orders**, click the pencil beside the order you need.
2. In **Edit Order**, click **Export** at the bottom.
3. Choose **Copy Order** for a formatted table or **Copy Order (Plain Text)** for a text list.

You can also use **Export** on the order shown under **Create & Manage Orders > Purchase Orders**, as shown below. Check the order number and vendor first. The editor's Export button also works for orders without an associated event.

## Review before sending

Paste the copy into your email or other supplier communication. It includes item names, unit counts, and buying-group counts. Add any delivery instructions, contact details, or other information your wholesaler needs, and check that the quantities are correct.

FlowerBuddy does not send the pasted message for you. After you send it, [update the order status](/reference/purchasing/orders/update-order-status.md) to **Submitted** if that matches your process.
