# Delete a retail plan

Delete a retail plan only when it should be removed from the Plans collection. This is different from leaving a completed plan in place as a record of a past selling period.

1. Open the plan's row action menu on **Plans**.
2. Select **Delete Plan**.
3. Review the plan name in the confirmation dialog.
4. Select **Delete** to confirm.

You need permission to edit the plan. Confirm that no one still needs its product, order, or build information before deleting it.

## Decide before confirming

The confirmation dialog is the last chance to stop the action. Read the plan name carefully, particularly when several plans have similar seasonal names. Deleting a plan removes it from the collection, so use it for an unwanted test, duplicate, or abandoned plan rather than as a way to mark normal work complete.

If the plan may be useful for comparison, production questions, or a future template, keep it and organize the collection with names, dates, tags, or search instead.
