# Inventory Report

The **Report** tab compares selected event hard-good needs with tracked stock. It is planning information only. Loading or expanding it does not reserve an item, pull it, or change an Inventory quantity.

## Load a report

Choose a **Date Range**, choose one or more **Event Status** values, and select **Apply**. The date range is the event date range, so use the dates when the work will occur. Include **Booked** when preparing committed work and include proposal statuses only when you intentionally want possible work in the comparison.

Each item row shows **Event Count**, **Total Needed**, and **Total Stock**. A highlighted need identifies a shortage for the selected events. For example, if three events need 18 bud vases and Total Stock is 12, the report identifies a six-vase planning gap. Use **Clear** to remove the loaded result and filters.

This example includes booked events with no date limit. The expanded Clear Cylinder Vase row shows 12 needed for Rivera Garden Wedding and 24 in Total Stock. Red quantities on other rows identify needs that exceed their tracked stock.

Expand an item row to see the included events and their quantities. This is the place to decide whether to add to [Purchases](/reference/inventory/purchases.md), adjust stock after a count, or change the underlying event plans. Do not assume the report itself has assigned or held stock.
