# Manage inventory locations

In the correct address section, select **Add Inventory Location**, enter a clear name, and select **Add**. A location should identify a place where someone can find an item, such as `Vase shelving`, `Walk-in cooler`, or `Receiving rack`.

Use the location edit action to rename it or select a different **Inventory Address**, then save. Moving a location to another address changes its organizing label only. It does not move quantities, create a transaction, or change the item's Total.

Use the delete action only when the location should no longer be used. Confirming does not delete the Inventory items assigned to it. Their location becomes **Unknown** until a teammate edits the item and chooses another location. Before deletion, decide where those items are actually stored so the team can immediately reassign them.
