# Manage inventory addresses

Select **Add Inventory Address**, enter the required **Name**, add the address details that will help a teammate identify the site, and select **Add**. Use a distinct, practical name such as `Main studio` or `North warehouse`, not a shelf name. Add the shelves, rooms, or racks as Inventory Locations afterward.

Use the address section's edit action to rename or correct its details, then save. Renaming an address does not move stock, change item counts, or create a second address.

Before selecting the address delete action, check the confirmation and the locations nested under the address. Confirming deletes every Inventory Location at that address. Inventory items remain, but they no longer have those locations assigned. Reassign their locations after the deletion if storage information still matters. Deleting an address is not a way to remove an Inventory item. Use [Add and remove inventory items](/reference/inventory/inventory/add-and-remove-inventory-items.md) for that separate action.
