# Public form

The public form is the page a recipient opens from the form link or an embedded form. It does not require the recipient to sign in. The page uses the form's design settings and shows the questions in the order you set in the Form Editor.

From the florist's perspective, use the public page to check the recipient experience before sharing the form. It shows required fields with an asterisk, uses the field type you selected, and displays the **Submit** button or the custom submit text configured in the editor.

After a successful submission, FlowerBuddy shows the form's **Confirmation Text** unless a redirect is configured. A configured return link can show **Return to Site**. The response is available on **Form Submissions**. When **Create Event** is enabled, FlowerBuddy also creates an event and links the response to it.

Use [Preview a public form](/reference/forms/public-form/preview-a-public-form.md) to inspect the page without sending a response. Submitting sends a notification email to the florist. If the form collects a primary client email through **Contact Details**, FlowerBuddy also sends a client confirmation. **Email Confirmation Text** changes that client's message; it is not a switch for turning email sending on or off.

This public form shows the required contact and event-date fields before submission.
