# Forms

Forms give you a reusable way to collect information from clients or prospective clients. You choose the questions, decide whether a response can create an event, style the public page, and share the form link or embed code on your site.

A form and a form submission are different records. The form is the set of questions and settings. A submission is one saved response. When a submission creates an event, the submission remains the response record and the event becomes the place where you continue planning.

The **Forms** page has two tabs:

* [Forms](/reference/forms/forms.md): Create and manage saved forms, open the [Form Editor](/reference/forms/form-editor.md), and copy sharing or embedding details.
* [Form Submissions](/reference/forms/form-submissions.md): Review responses, open their answers, create an event from a response, and archive or export submissions.

The public page is separate from the editor. Open [the public form](/reference/forms/public-form.md) to check what a recipient sees before you share the form.

The Forms page below shows the saved form collection and the two tabs used to move between form setup and response review.

## A form's main choices

Use the [Form Editor](/reference/forms/form-editor.md) to make the form useful for the work that follows a response:

* **Form Details** identifies the form and controls whether a response creates an event, which event template supplies the starting setup, and whether the submitted page can return to your site.
* **Form Design** controls the public page's logo, colors, fonts, introduction, submit button text, redirect behavior, and confirmation messages.
* **Form Fields** controls the questions, required choices, answer types, order, and fields that can populate event information.

For example, an initial consultation form might require a client's name and email, collect an event date, offer a few service choices, and create an event from a selected event template. The response then appears under [Form Submissions](/reference/forms/form-submissions.md) for review.
