# Set taxes, discounts, and fees in a template

The **Taxes, Discounts, & Fees** tab holds starting price adjustments for a reusable event setup. Taxes are tracked separately from discounts, and fees may be calculated from the pricing formula rather than entered as a client charge.

The tab below shows the controls for each area. An empty tax or discount section is still useful when the template has not yet been configured.

## Add taxes

Select **Add Tax** to add a tax row, or **Add Tax Group** to select a saved group of tax profiles. Review the tax amount and the event lines it applies to after the template is used for a real event.

## Add discounts

Select **Add Discount** to add a fixed or percentage discount. A percentage discount can use the eligible line items supported by the dialog, rather than automatically applying to every line. Choose the basis that reflects the reusable setup, then review the event-specific lines after creation.

## Review fees and totals

**Overhead Costs** shows calculated costs that contribute to the template's starting totals. A fee that is already built into the pricing formula is identified separately from an amount you enter as a line item.

When a template is applied to an existing event, **Taxes** can be added, replaced, or kept according to the application choices. Review the resulting totals on the event before sharing a proposal.
