# Prepare recipes and costs in a template

The template **Recipes** tab stores reusable floral designs and other priced work. Recipes describe what to make, while quantities, flowers, hard goods, labor, and pricing describe how the design is planned and calculated.

The populated example below shows recipe sections for **Personals**, **Ceremony**, and **Reception**, with reusable items such as Bridal Bouquet, Bridesmaid Bouquet, Corsage, and Boutonniere.

## Add and organize recipes

Select **Add Item** to create an item in the template. Select **Templates** when an existing recipe template is the better starting point. Use recipe sections to keep related designs together, such as Personals or Reception. The section organization can support the proposal layout as well as internal planning.

For shared recipe mechanics, see [Create, reuse, and manage recipes](/reference/event-page/recipes/create-reuse-and-manage-recipes.md), [Use recipe groups](/reference/event-page/recipes/use-recipe-groups.md), and [Organize recipes for proposals](/reference/event-page/recipes/organize-recipes-for-proposals.md). Those instructions apply in the editor when the same controls are present.

## Review reusable calculations

Expand a recipe to review its ingredients, quantity, labor, cost, price, and profit. Set a starting quantity only when it is a reasonable reusable default. Event-specific quantities and prices should be reviewed after the new event is created.

Other costs and labor can also be part of the template's starting recipe setup. Keep the choices understandable to the florist who will adapt the template for a particular client.

The template Recipes tab does not provide the event's **Order** or **Build** tabs. Those tabs depend on the actual event's date, purchasing plan, and production work. Use the template to prepare the recipe structure, then review Order and Build on the real event.
