# Set template markups and event settings

**Markups** and **Settings** on the template's **Details** tab determine how a new event starts calculating prices and showing operational reminders. Markups affect cost and price calculations. Settings control display, warning, date, and payment-notification choices.

The summary below shows both sections together. It includes design fee, flower and hard-good multipliers, labor, overhead, calculation settings, payment notification timing, profit display, price warning tolerance, and date format.

## Markups

Use **Edit Settings** in **Markups** to review the reusable pricing inputs:

* **Design Fee (%)** applies a percentage to the recipe's flower and hard-good costs plus direct labor cost. For example, a 30% setting adds 30% of that combined cost to the suggested recipe price.
* **Flower Cost**, **Hard Good Rental**, and **Hard Good Sale** set the multipliers for each category.
* Labor values cover **In Studio Labor Hourly Rate**, **In Studio Labor Multiplier**, **On Site Labor Hourly Rate**, **On Site Labor Multiplier**, **Default Labor Percent**, and **Percent Labor Multiplier**.
* Overhead values cover indirect labor, owner labor, facilities, and general overhead percentages.
* **Account For FlowerBuddy Fee** and **Account For Payment Processing Fee** include those fees in the pricing calculation when enabled.
* **Round Suggested Prices** controls the selected rounding behavior.

For example, a **Flower Cost** multiplier of 3.5 applies 3.5 times the flower cost when FlowerBuddy suggests a recipe price. **Hard Good Rental** and **Hard Good Sale** apply the corresponding multipliers to rental and sale hard goods. Set the labor rates and multipliers to the amounts your workspace uses, then review the resulting cost, price, and profit on an event created from the template.

## Settings

Use **Edit Settings** in **Settings** to review:

* **Upcoming Payment: 7 Days**, **Upcoming Payment: 3 Days**, **Payment Due**, **Payment Overdue: 3 Days**, and **Payment Overdue: 7 Days** notification choices.
* **View Profit As Percent** for the profit display.
* **Price Warning Tolerance ($)** for price comparison warnings.
* **Date Format** for dates shown in the event.
