# Set the default event timezone

Choose the timezone that should start on new events created without an event template. Use the timezone where your event work is normally planned, not necessarily the timezone of the person currently editing the setting.

The image below shows the selected timezone and the current-location button.

## Choose a timezone

1. Open **Event Settings** and select **Timezone**.
2. Open the **Default Event Timezone** selector.
3. Search for and select the timezone that should be used for new events.
4. To use the browser's current timezone, select the current-location button beside the selector.

The current-location button uses the browser's timezone setting. Confirm the selected value before leaving the page, especially when your browser and event work are in different locations.

The saved timezone is copied into future events. Change an existing event's timezone in that event's own settings.
