# Proposal

The Proposal tab controls the starting presentation of proposals for new events. It brings together expiration behavior, section presentation, document design, and the proposal details that help a client understand the event and its pricing.

These are defaults, not a continuing template connection. FlowerBuddy copies the proposal setup into a new event when the event is created without an event template. You can then adjust that event's proposal independently.

## Proposal defaults

Use this tab to set the presentation that should be ready when a new event is created:

* **Expires** and the expiration value control whether a proposal has an expiration period.
* **Show Date** controls whether the event date is shown in the proposal presentation.
* Proposal sections control which information appears, the order of sections, and how the proposal presents event, design, pricing, and totals information.
* **Document Design** controls the visual treatment and layout choices available for the proposal.

Examples such as showing an event date or setting an expiration period are presentation choices. Choose values that match how your team sends and reviews proposals.
