# Manage default contracts and signer information

Set up the Contract tab when you want contracts to be available to clients and want each new event to begin with consistent terms and signer information.

The image below shows the reusable contract fields and section editor.

## Enable contracts

1. Open **Event Settings** and select **Contract**.
2. Turn on **Enable**.
3. If the authorization warning appears, the workspace owner selects **Authorize now**.
4. Read the authorization terms, select **I authorize FlowerBuddy to apply my electronic signature under this account-level authorization.**, and select **Send Code**.
5. Enter the code sent to the workspace owner's email in **Verification code**, then select **Verify & Authorize**.

When contracts are enabled, clients can view and sign the terms included with the event. Automatic Signature Authorization is an account-level authorization for new contracts. A workspace member who is not the owner can see the warning but must ask the workspace owner to complete these steps.

If **Enable** is unavailable, your plan may not include contracts or authorization may not be complete. Contact the workspace owner or review the plan and authorization requirements for your account.

## Choose signer information

In **Signer information**, Name and Email are always required. Select the optional fields when the signer should provide them:

* **Signer address** collects an address.
* **Signer phone number** collects a phone number.
* **Signer company name** collects a company name.

Contract variables in a selected contract can add required signer information. Check the selected contract content when deciding which fields to collect.

## Create a contract template

1. Select **New Contract** in **Contract Library**.
2. Enter a **Name**.
3. Add an optional **Description**.
4. In **Sections**, enter an optional heading and the section **Body**.
5. Select **Add Section** for additional terms.
6. Use the section actions to insert variables, edit a section, or remove it. Drag sections to change their order.
7. Select **Save**.

Use variables for values that should come from the event or signer. Give each section one heading and one related set of terms so the contract is easier to review and maintain.

## Select default event contracts

Use **Default Event Contracts** to choose which library contracts should start on a new event. Select **Preview** to review the selected terms before saving the default selection.

Default contracts are copied at event creation. Editing a library contract or changing the default selection does not rewrite contracts already attached to existing events.
