# Organize recipes for the proposal

A recipe proposal section is a heading in the ordered **Recipes** list. Use it to organize client-facing line items into meaningful parts such as "Personals," "Ceremony," or "Reception." The section can have a name and description.

This is different from two other features:

* A **recipe group** combines recipes or fixed costs into one priced offering.
* A **proposal design section** controls the presentation layout on the **Proposal** tab.

A recipe proposal section organizes line items. It does not combine their quantities, costs, or prices.

Recipe proposal sections appear in the ordered Recipes list above the line items they introduce.

## Add and name a section

1. Open the event and select **Recipes**.
2. Select **Add Item**, then select **Section**.
3. Replace **New Proposal Section** with a client-facing heading.
4. Add a **Description** when the section needs a short introduction.

You can also use the insertion control between existing cards to add a section at a specific position.

## Place recipes beneath the heading

Drag the section and recipe cards into the order the client should read them. The section introduces the line items that follow it until the next recipe proposal section.

For example, place a "Personals" section before bouquets and boutonnieres, then place a "Reception" section before centerpieces and tablescape groups.

Moving a recipe beneath a heading does not put it inside a recipe group. The recipe remains its own line item unless it is separately moved into a group.

## Reorder or remove a section

Use the section's drag handle to move the heading and its place in the list. Moving the heading does not automatically carry a fixed set of recipes with it, so review the full order after any rearrangement.

Select the section's delete button to remove the heading. Removing a recipe proposal section does not delete the recipes or other costs around it.

## Review the proposal result

Open the proposal preview and find the Scope of Services or other area that presents recipe line items. Confirm that the headings, descriptions, recipes, groups, optional choices, and other costs appear in the intended order.

Use the **Proposal** tab when you need to add or arrange proposal design sections such as a hero, inspiration board, or image layout. Those design controls do not replace the line-item organization created on **Recipes**.
