# Proposal

The **Proposal** tab turns the event's selected information into a presentation for the client. It can show designs, images, event details, notes, and the **Scope of Services** section. You arrange the sections, choose how the document looks, inspect the client view, create a PDF, and manage access to the Client Portal from this tab.

Use this tab to edit the proposal, then select **Preview Proposal** to check how it looks. **Proposal PDF** creates a printable or downloadable copy. **Client Portal** opens the shared page where your client can review the published proposal. The portal can also include the contract and payments; manage those from the event's [Details tab](/reference/event-page/details.md).

For example, you might place a title page first, follow it with a color palette and design images, then show the Scope of Services and timeline. You can preview that sequence before publishing it for a client.

## Keep the views separate

The editor is where you change sections and style. **Preview Proposal** is where you check how those choices render. The Client Portal is the page a recipient opens through a shared proposal link. A published proposal can expose more than the proposal itself, depending on the event's enabled contract, payment, and document features. Manage those areas from **Details**, not from the Proposal section controls.

Turn on **Published** when you are ready for the client to open the Client Portal. **Expires** lets you set a date when access ends, and **Show Date** controls whether the client sees that expiration date. An unpublished or expired proposal cannot be opened through the normal shared link.

## Review before sharing

Read the visible sections in order, then use **Preview Proposal**. Confirm that the names, images, event details, offerings, notes, and totals belong in the version you will show the client. Check any warnings above the editor before you publish. If an amendment is present, review the amended values and the way they appear in the Scope of Services section before making them available to the client.
