# Manage event files

The **Files** section keeps two kinds of documents with the event:

* **Contracts** contains generated agreement documents and their signing status.
* **Attachments** contains ordinary files you add, such as venue information, a floor plan, or another event document.

Adding an attachment does not add it to the contract or proposal automatically.

## Add an attachment

1. Open the event and select **Details**.
2. Expand **Files**.
3. Under **Attachments**, select **Add Attachment**.
4. Choose the PDF you want to keep with the event.
5. Wait for **Add Attachment** to close and the file name to appear under **Attachments**.

The **Add Attachment** dialog accepts a file by drag and drop or through **Browse**. Add only an ordinary event document here; it does not become part of the contract or proposal automatically.

Select the download icon beside the attachment to save the file to your device.

To change the displayed name, select the pencil icon, enter the new **Name** in **Edit Attachment Name**, and select **Save**. Renaming the attachment does not change the document's contents.

To remove it, select the trash icon and confirm **Delete Attachment**. Deletion removes the file from FlowerBuddy and cannot be undone.

## Review generated contract documents

A contract template in the **Contract** section is editable agreement content. A document under **Files > Contracts** is a generated record created for signing or manual confirmation.

Generated electronic-signature documents show one of these states:

* **Not Signed:** The document exists, but its required signing steps are incomplete.
* **Signed:** Signing is complete.

Open the document to review it. Download the completed PDF when you need a retained copy outside FlowerBuddy.

An unsigned document can keep contract-related event fields from being changed while the signing process is active. If that document should no longer be used, delete it before preparing a replacement. Signed documents do not offer the same delete action.

The **Files** section can show a warning badge when an unsigned document exists. Expand the section to find the document that needs attention.

## Keep generated and uploaded files distinct

Deleting an ordinary attachment does not affect a contract. Deleting an unsigned generated contract does not remove the editable terms from the **Contract** section. Each action applies to the file selected in its own subsection.

File changes require event edit access. Opening or downloading a file does not change its status.
