# Configure event pricing and settings

The **Markups** and **Settings** sections contain the assumptions copied into this event. Use them when one event needs values that differ from your usual Event Settings.

Changing these values does not change the workspace defaults or other existing events.

## Review the event's pricing assumptions

Open **Details > Markups** to see the values used by this event. Select **Edit Settings** to change them.

The **Edit Markups** dialog groups the event's Design Fee, flower and hard-good multipliers, and labor assumptions. Review the section labels before changing a value so you know which calculation it affects.

### Design Fee and multipliers

**Design Fee (%)** is an optional pricing increase based on the arrangement's combined flower, hard-good, and labor costs. It is not another labor or overhead cost, and the percentage is not the same as a target profit margin.

**Flower Cost**, **Hard Good Rental**, and **Hard Good Sale** are multipliers used when FlowerBuddy calculates suggested prices from those costs. They do not change the underlying cost entered for an item.

### Labor

The labor settings provide separate assumptions for:

* **In Studio Labor Hourly Rate** and **In Studio Labor Multiplier**;
* **On Site Labor Hourly Rate** and **On Site Labor Multiplier**; and
* **Default Labor Percent** and **Labor Multiplier (Percent Based)**.

Direct labor describes hands-on work for the design. Choose the method that matches how a recipe calculates its labor rather than adding every method to the same work automatically.

### Overhead and calculated costs

**Indirect Labor Percent**, **Owner Labor Percent**, **Facilities Overhead Percent**, and **General Overhead Percent** add business costs to the event's cost and profit estimates. They are not automatically separate client charges.

**Account For FlowerBuddy Fee** and **Account For Payment Processing Fee** control whether those estimated costs are included in suggested prices for this event. An applicable fee can still appear in event Cost and reduce Est. Profit when its switch is off.

Use **Round Suggested Prices** to choose how FlowerBuddy rounds its calculated suggestions. This changes suggested prices, not a selling price you already chose without reviewing it.

The controls in **Edit Markups** save as they change. Select **Close** after reviewing the summary.

## Configure automatic payment notifications

Open **Details > Settings** and select **Edit Settings**. Under **Payment Notification Emails**, choose which automatic notices apply to this event:

* **Upcoming Payment: 7 Days**
* **Upcoming Payment: 3 Days**
* **Payment Due**
* **Payment Overdue: 3 Days**
* **Payment Overdue: 7 Days**

These settings control future automatic messages. Changing a switch does not send an email immediately. A manual **Send Payment Reminder** on a payment row is a separate action.

## Configure the event display

Under the view settings:

* **View Profit as Percent** chooses whether the event summary shows estimated profit as a percentage or currency amount.
* **Price Warning Tolerance** sets the allowed difference before FlowerBuddy shows a price warning.
* **Date Format** controls how dates are displayed for this event.

These controls also save as they change. Select **Close**, then confirm the chosen values in the **Settings** summary.

Changing calculations can affect suggested prices, costs, and profit estimates across the event. Review the event summary and affected recipes after changing a pricing assumption.
