# Map event line items to reporting accounts

Use **Line item mapping** to choose a FlowerBuddy reporting category for each billable event item. This table calls the category **Reporting account** and shows its connected **QuickBooks account** beside it. Manage the shared categories on [Accounting > Accounts](/reference/accounting/accounts.md).

## Review the mapping table

The table includes:

* **Item**, the event line item's name.
* **Type**, such as a recipe, discount, or fee.
* **Amount**, the value represented in the accounting preview.
* **Reporting account**, the FlowerBuddy category you choose.
* **QuickBooks account**, the account connected to that reporting category.

Only nonzero billable items appear. If the table says **No billable line items found for accounting review**, there is nothing to map in the current event data.

## Assign an account

1. Open the event and select **Accounting**.
2. In **Line item mapping**, open **Reporting account** for an item.
3. Select the category that describes the item.
4. Confirm the adjacent **QuickBooks account**.

FlowerBuddy saves each choice automatically and refreshes **Journal entry preview**. Continue until the unmapped count is gone and the preview no longer asks you to map event items.

If the connected QuickBooks account is not the intended destination, [update the category's mapping](/reference/accounting/accounts/manage-reporting-categories.md) before syncing.

## After revenue recognition sync

After the revenue-recognition journal entry is synced, the mapping table becomes read-only. The saved mappings remain visible for review so that they stay aligned with the posted entry. Review the linked journal entry in QuickBooks for the posted result.
