# Manage tax groups

A tax group saves several tax profiles as one reusable choice. Use it when the same combination of taxes is usually selected together. Keep a profile separate when it represents one tax that may be combined differently from event to event.

## Create a group

1. From **Core Data**, open **Tax Profiles** and select **Add Tax Group**.
2. Enter a clear **Name** for the combination.
3. Select the profiles to include in **Taxes**, then select **Add**.

You can create a missing tax profile from this flow. For example, a group can combine a city tax and a state tax that are normally selected together for the same type of event.

## Change group membership carefully

Select the edit icon to rename a group or add and remove profiles in **Taxes**, then select **Update**. FlowerBuddy warns that changing group membership affects existing events. Adding or removing a tax can add or remove tax rows from events. For booked events, the change can create unpublished amendments for review. Read that warning before saving, because the result is not limited to the next event you create.

## Delete a group

Select the delete icon only when the saved combination is no longer useful. Deleting a group removes the group's designation from existing events. It does not delete the tax profiles in the group or remove those taxes from events. Delete a profile separately only when that individual tax definition is no longer reusable.
