# Manage product tiers

Product Tiers are retail product versions you define, such as Standard, Deluxe, or Premium. The **Product Tiers** tab maintains tiers that are already assigned to retail products. It does not create a product or make the initial tier assignment.

## Find and rename a tier

1. From **Core Data**, open **Product Tiers**.
2. Find the tier and review **Product Count** to understand where it is used.
3. Select the edit icon, enter the replacement name, and save.

The new name appears on products that use the tier. Rename a shared tier label only when the replacement remains accurate for every product in the count. For example, correct a general version label that your team uses across the retail catalog.

The editor warns that saving changes the tier for every product that uses it.

Do not use a tier as a substitute for a Product Code. A tier groups product versions for comparison, while a code identifies a product. Keeping those choices separate makes the **Product Count** column more useful when you review the retail catalog.

## Delete a tier

Select the delete icon only when the tier is no longer useful. Deletion removes the tier from associated products and cannot be undone. It does not remove those products, but they no longer have that tier. Review **Product Count** first and consider a rename when the current tier should remain assigned.

## Assign the first tier

Assign a Product Tier from the **Product Tier** field in a retail product's details. Product Tiers are available only in workspaces where product details are enabled.
