# Manage companies

Companies are shared organization records for clients and professional contacts. A company is not a FlowerBuddy workspace and its members are not workspace members. Use a company record to keep an organization and its associated people organized across the workspace.

## Add a company

1. From **Core Data**, open **Companies** and select **Add Company**.
2. Enter the company name and any useful email, address, point of contact, phone, website, and notes.
3. Review the address display preview when it appears, then select **Add**.

For example, save a venue business as a company and link its coordinator as a professional contact. That makes it easier to recognize the organization while preserving the person's direct details.

## Review members and update the record

Open **Members** to review linked clients and professional contacts before changing or deleting the company. Select the edit icon to update the shared contact information. Company updates change the organization record, while a person's direct email, phone, and event relationship remain on that person's record.

## Delete a company

When you delete a company, its linked clients and professional contacts remain in Core Data without a company association. The people are not deleted. Update or remove their company association from each person's record. This makes deletion suitable for an obsolete organization record, not as a way to remove the people connected to it.
