# Manage clients

The **Clients** tab stores reusable people your business serves. It manages their shared contact information. A client's role and signer status belong to a particular event, so changing a Core Data client does not change those event-specific choices.

## Add a client

1. From **Core Data**, open **Clients** and select **Add Client**.
2. Enter the shared name, email, phone, address, notes, and optional company.
3. Select **Add** to save the reusable client record.

Use [Companies](/reference/core-data/companies.md) to maintain the organization separately. For example, two clients can be linked to the same company while retaining their own email addresses, phone numbers, and notes.

## Update shared details

Use search and the table columns to find the client record you need. Open the **Events** count to review where the client is used, then select the edit icon to update the shared contact information. A change here updates the saved client information, not the client's role on each event.

Client roles and contract signers are assigned from the event's Contact Info section. Use [Manage clients, signers, and professional contacts](/reference/event-page/details/manage-event-contacts.md) for that event-specific work. For example, make someone a signer for one event from the event page rather than assuming that a Core Data change affects every contract.

## Accounting availability

Eligible workspaces using Accounting Review can offer a QuickBooks customer-link step after creating a client. It is optional advanced accounting setup. Do not create or change a QuickBooks link unless your accounting process calls for it. See [Accounting](/reference/accounting.md) for the related setup.
