# Export, merge, and delete clients

Use client bulk actions for deliberate data maintenance. Search, sort, and inspect the **Events** count first so that a cleanup action does not affect records you still need.

The Clients table keeps selection boxes, event counts, and row actions together. Use the count as context before selecting records for a bulk action.

## Export selected clients

1. From **Core Data**, open **Clients** and use search or sorting to narrow the list.
2. Select the checkbox beside one or more client records.
3. Select **Export** to download a CSV of the selected records.

Export is useful when you need a selected list for review outside FlowerBuddy. It exports the selected client records, not every record that happens to match a name. Check your selection before downloading when the table contains similar clients.

## Merge duplicate clients

1. Select at least two duplicate client records and select **Merge**.
2. Choose the source record for each retained value, including name, company, email, phone, address, and notes.
3. Select the confirmation checkbox, then select **Merge Clients**.

FlowerBuddy keeps one client record and consolidates the selected clients' event associations onto it. For example, retain the current email from one duplicate and the complete notes from another. Merge only records for the same person or client relationship. It is not a substitute for updating one client's current contact information.

## Delete records no longer needed

Select the checkboxes for records that should be removed rather than consolidated, then select **Delete** and confirm the number of selected clients. Deletion removes each client and its event associations, but it does not delete the events themselves. The confirmation does not replace reviewing event use first. Delete and merge are data-cleanup actions and cannot be undone. Use merge instead when the selected records are duplicates that should retain one combined history.
