# Connect and manage Google Calendar sync

Google Calendar sync creates a FlowerBuddy calendar in the connected Google account and sends eligible upcoming FlowerBuddy events to it. The FlowerBuddy Calendar remains the place where you manage FlowerBuddy records and filters.

The connection menu is available from the Calendar header. In the disconnected state, it shows **GCal - Not Connected** and the action that starts the connection.

## Start a connection

1. Open the **Calendar** page.
2. Select **GCal - Not Connected**.
3. Select **Sync Events to Google Calendar**.
4. Follow the Google authorization steps in the browser.

FlowerBuddy uses the authorized account to create a FlowerBuddy calendar named for the active workspace and sync upcoming eligible events. The connection is associated with the active workspace.

The Google authorization step is outside FlowerBuddy. Do not enter Google credentials into FlowerBuddy fields.

## Understand connection states

The Calendar button identifies the connection state:

* **GCal - Not Connected** means there is no connection for the active workspace.
* **GCal - Connected** means the connection is active.
* **GCal - Reconnect** means the connection exists but Google access has expired or was revoked.

In Workspace Settings, the Google Calendar integration shows **Connected** when access works and **Needs reconnect** when the saved Google authorization is broken. The Calendar header uses **GCal - Connected** or **GCal - Reconnect** for the same states.

## Resync events

From **GCal - Connected**, select **Resync All Events** to start a new sync request. FlowerBuddy shows **Resync Started** while the request is accepted. The sync then evaluates eligible events and updates their Google Calendar entries.

For a new Google Calendar entry, an event must have one of these Calendar statuses: **Inquiry**, **Proposal**, **Booked**, or **Completed**, and its date must be today or later. A record already tracked in Google Calendar can still be refreshed after its date has passed, but FlowerBuddy removes the Google entry when the event is deleted or its status leaves those four statuses. The FlowerBuddy event itself is not deleted.

## Reconnect after access expires

When the button shows **GCal - Reconnect**, select it and choose **Reconnect Google Calendar**. Reconnect the same Google account to resume the existing connection. If the account is already connected in another workspace, FlowerBuddy stops the connection and explains that only one Google account can be connected at a time.

If authorization fails, FlowerBuddy shows **Google Calendar Error** with the returned error message. Select **OK**, then try the connection again or resolve the Google authorization issue.

## Disconnect and choose what to keep

From a connected Calendar, select **GCal - Connected**, then select **Disconnect**. The **Disconnect Google Calendar** dialog gives you three choices:

* **Cancel** keeps the connection.
* **Disconnect Without Deleting** stops the sync and keeps the FlowerBuddy calendar in Google.
* **Disconnect and Delete** stops the sync and asks Google to delete the FlowerBuddy calendar.

Disconnecting removes the FlowerBuddy connection and its tracked sync records. It does not delete the FlowerBuddy events in your workspace. Choose the deletion option only when you also want the external FlowerBuddy calendar removed from Google.

## Connection boundaries

Google controls the authorization account and external calendar. FlowerBuddy controls which eligible event records are sent and whether the active workspace connection is connected, broken, or disconnected.

Sync is event based. It does not turn Google Calendar into an editor for FlowerBuddy event details, payments, or tasks.
