# Revenue Recognition

The **Revenue Recognition** tab on [Accounting](/reference/accounting.md) helps you find events that still need their revenue reviewed in QuickBooks. Received payments and event revenue are reviewed separately: recording a payment as deferred revenue does not complete the event's revenue-recognition review.

## Events in the list

The list includes **Booked** and **Completed** events whose event date is today or earlier and whose revenue recognition has not been successfully synced. Successfully synced events leave the list. Blocked or failed events remain available for review.

Use **Refresh** to load the latest information. This is an accounting review list, not a list of all past events or retail plans.

## Review an event

The table shows **Event date**, **Event**, **Client**, **Amount**, **Status**, and **Action**. Check the event and its selected accounting client before opening the review. The amount provides context for the revenue-recognition review; the event's journal entry preview gives the detailed account breakdown.

Select **Open** in an event's row to open that event. Complete the review on its [Accounting tab](/reference/event-page/accounting.md), following [Review and sync event revenue recognition](/reference/event-page/accounting/review-and-sync-event-revenue-recognition.md).

## Resolve review statuses

* **Needs client**: add or select the event's FlowerBuddy client.
* **Needs QBO customer**: connect the selected client to the correct QuickBooks customer.
* **Missing mappings**: complete the event's line-item or tax mappings and the related account setup.
* **Needs cash receipt**: review the event's received payments before the revenue-recognition step.
* **Needs setup**: complete the required accounting settings.
* **Needs attention**: open the event's review and read the specific issues.
* **Failed**: inspect the failed attempt and correct the displayed problem before retrying.
* **Ready for journal entry**: open the event and review the proposed entry before syncing it.

The **Ready for review** and **Needs attention** totals count events in those states. Neither count confirms that a journal entry has been created. Only the completed sync does that.
