# Verify your email

FlowerBuddy requires email verification before an account can use the normal signed-in application. After sign-up, open the verification link sent to the account email. FlowerBuddy verifies the account, updates the signed-in session, and returns to the application.

## Open the verification link

Use the link sent after you create the account. FlowerBuddy opens a brief **Redirecting...** screen while it verifies the link and signs in the account. If the page does not redirect soon, select your browser's refresh control, as the screen instructs.

The link verifies the account that received it. Do not forward it to a teammate or use it for an account with a different email address. An invitation can lead into sign-up, but it does not replace email verification for a newly created account.

## Request another email

Until verification is complete, FlowerBuddy keeps the account in an unverified state rather than opening the normal workspace pages. That screen says **Almost there! Check your email for a verification link!** and provides **Resend Email** when you need another message. It also provides **Log Out** if you need to leave the account-access state.

Use the verification link for the account that received it. A verification link is not a workspace invitation or a Client Portal link. If verification does not complete, refresh the verification page first. Use **Resend Email** from the unverified state when another link is needed instead of sharing the original link.
