# Accept a workspace invitation

A workspace invitation gives a florist or team member a path to join a shared FlowerBuddy workspace. It is different from a Client Portal link: accepting it changes the person's internal workspace access.

## Open the invitation

When you open an invitation, FlowerBuddy checks whether the invited email already has an account. The invitation screen identifies the workspace and the person who sent the invitation.

* If the invited email already has a FlowerBuddy account, FlowerBuddy sends you to **Log In**.
* If it does not have an account, FlowerBuddy sends you to **Sign Up** and fills the invitation email into the account form.

Sign in or sign up with the invited email. After authentication, FlowerBuddy accepts the valid invitation and returns to the application.

## What acceptance changes

Accepting an invitation adds the account as a member of that workspace and makes it the active workspace. If the invitation includes a workspace role, FlowerBuddy applies that role. The invitation is then removed because it has been used.

The role controls what the member can see or change in the workspace. It does not assign an Event Role on a particular event. The workspace owner manages invitations, members, and roles in [Workspace Settings](/reference/workspace-settings.md).

Use the link intended for your own email. If you already belong to more than one workspace, use [Switch workspaces](/reference/navigation-shell/switch-workspaces.md) after sign-in instead of accepting another invitation just to view a different workspace.
